A Postdoctoral Scholar position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Congcong He in the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Chicago, Illinois. The successful candidate will participate in federal and private-funded projects aiming to understand the function and molecular mechanism of autophagy (a key lysosomal degradation pathway) in the regulation of neuronal cell metabolism and quality control, reward and cognitive behaviors, and neurodevelopmental disorders, using knockout, knockin and transgenic mouse models, cell and developmental biology, imaging and state-of-the-art behavioral techniques. Recent relevant discoveries of the He Laboratory are published on journals including Science Advances and Cell Reports. He Lab is stably supported by funding from NIH, private foundations, and Northwestern University.

Qualifications: A Ph.D. degree in cell biology, developmental biology, neuroscience, biochemistry, or a closely related field; record of peer-reviewed publications; expertise in animal handling and experimentation; self-motivated and willing to learn new knowledge and techniques. Prior research experience in metabolic and/or neurological diseases in mouse models is particularly desirable. Salary is commensurate with experience.
