A funded postdoctoral position is available in the Developmental Genomics Section of the National Human Genome Research Institute. The Section is run by Dr. Shawn Burgess and the focus of the lab is on the genetics and functional genomics of tissue regeneration and wound healing with an emphasis on hearing regeneration in zebrafish. There are multiple projects available to pursue involving genetic analysis with high-throughput mutagenesis approaches, computational analysis of genomic data at multiple levels of genome organization, and cross-species genome assembly and analysis. Most experiments involve aquatic vertebrates, but mammalian and invertebrate projects will also be considered within the context of regeneration.
Candidates should have or be very close to obtaining a Ph.D. Ph.D must be earned less than 5 years ago. There are no specific requirements for prior training, but the individual should be interested in areas related to genomics, genetics, computational biology, and the use of zebrafish as a model organism. The NIH is an equal opportunity employer. International applicants are welcome.
Interested applicants should send a CV, statement of interest and names of three references to: email@example.com.
