Brigid Hogan Awarded 2020 FASEB Excellence in Science Lifetime Achievement Award

Congratulations to Brigid L. M. Hogan, Professor of Cell Biology at Duke University School of Medicine, on being awarded the 2020 FASEB Excellence in Science Lifetime Achievement Award.  The award recognizes women whose outstanding career achievements in biological science have contributed significantly to their discipline.  Hogan pioneered the molecular analysis of early mammalian development and isolated some of the first mammalian Hox genes.  She was instrumental in developing the Cold Spring Harbor Mouse Course and co-authored the manual Manipulating the Mouse Embryo.  Today her lab focuses on lung development.  Hogan served as president of the Society for Developmental Biology from 2000-2001 and received the Developmental Biology-SDB Lifetime Achievement Award in 2015.  She will be awarded a $10,000 grant from FASEB and give her FASEB award lecture at the Society for Developmental Biology 79th Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL July 9-13, 2020.
