The Stanford Department of Applied Physics seeks applicants for a faculty position at any professorial level in experimental biological physics very broadly construed.  We seek candidates who bring physics-inspired approaches (e.g. developing instrumentation and other methods, or framing questions) to any area of biology including information processing by structures ranging from cells to brains; dynamics and mechanics ranging from molecules to cells, tissues, and development; evolution, ecology, and engineering of microbes or the immune system. Applicants are expected to develop a research program which will particularly attract graduate students with physics backgrounds. The appointment is expected to begin September 1, 2025.

The expected salary ranges for academic year 2025-26 are Assistant Professor: $128,000 - $152,000; Associate Professor: $165,000 - $180,000; and Full Professor: $190,000 - $320,000.
