The Department of Biology at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks applicants for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor who studies molecular or cellular biology, to begin September 1, 2022. We seek candidates whose research plan involves laboratory-based research that incorporates bioinformatics and data science approaches. The successful applicant is expected to establish an externally funded research program, direct the research of students at the doctoral, masters, and undergraduate levels, and interact with a dynamic group of molecular, cell, and developmental biologists.

Applicants must have a PhD and relevant postdoctoral research experience. We will prioritize candidates who have significant expertise in bioinformatics and data science methods and who can develop and deliver courses and workshops on the use of these methods for the analysis of large molecular datasets. Commitment to excellence in teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels is expected, and the application of innovative pedagogical approaches will be encouraged. Individuals from underrepresented groups in science are encouraged to apply.
