The laboratory of Dr. Angelo Iulianella is seeking to fill a full-time Research Technician/Assistant position and Graduate Student positions for the study of neural development. The Iulianella lab is located in the Department of Medical Neuroscience at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. We use a combination of molecular and cellular biology, imaging, and mouse transgenic approaches to study how neurons are formed and maintained.
 
(1) Graduate student candidates will have completed a BSc degree with knowledge of and/or experience in molecular, cellular, and/or developmental biology or neurobiology.
 
(2) The Technician/Assistant position requires experience in molecular biology and PCR genotyping to maintain a colony of transgenic mice. Specific skills include: frozen sectioning, histology, cell culture, molecular cloning, mouse husbandry, and a strong organizational ability to manage lab resources. Knowledge of developmental biology and neuroanatomy is an asset. A minimum B.Sc. or equivalent in the biological sciences is required. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
