Investigators using quantitative, systems-level, or big-data approaches to study dynamics or properties associated with genetics and genomics of any biological system are encouraged to apply. Exemplary areas include population/evolutionary genetics, genetics of complex traits/diseases, the influence of genetic variation on gene expression, gene-environment interactions, and epigenetic control. Individuals who design cutting-edge computational and/or systems biology approaches in plant systems are encouraged to apply.

The Department of Molecular Genetics ( includes more than thirty faculty investigating diverse biological questions. Research efforts are supported by state-of-the-art infrastructure and core facilities in the department and across campus. Our faculty collaborate within the department and as active members of several campus-wide focal groups.
