Funded postdoctoral position available in the lab of Sally Temple at the Neural Stem Cell Institute (NSCI) to undertake study of cortical neurogenesis and vascularization using organoid models. This 4-year funded project seeks to define critical factors for neural organization and endothelial integration. Candidates with a PhD or equivalent, a strong interest in neurobiological research and a background in molecular biology, cell biology, and cell culture models of neurodegenerative disease are encouraged to apply.
This project will incorporate human pluripotent stem cell culture, neural organoid culture, molecular biology and phenotypic assays, manuscript preparation and communication of results.
The NSCI is located in the capital region of upstate NY, a vibrant scientific region with multiple research organizations, including the Wadsworth Center, Albany Medical Center, SUNY Albany, SUNY Polytechnic and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. For more information about NSCI, visit: https://www.neuralsci.org/.
To apply: Applicants should email their CV and contact information for at least two references, along with a 1-2 page cover letter, to firstname.lastname@example.org. The cover letter should outline the applicant’s technical skills, why they are interested in neurobiology research, and their reasons for pursuing a postdoc position. Please include “cortical organoid research postdoc” in the email subject.
