Funded postdoctoral position available in the lab of Sally Temple at the Neural Stem Cell Institute (NSCI) to undertake study of the Retinal Pigment Epithelium Stem Cell (RPESC) for basic and translational objectives. This 4-year funded project seeks to define critical factors for RPE regeneration in vitro and in vivo. Candidates with a PhD or equivalent, a strong interest in vision research and a background in molecular biology, cell biology, and cell culture models of retinal disease are encouraged to apply.

This project will incorporate human pluripotent stem cell culture, primary RPE cell isolation, CRISPRi, proteomic analysis, molecular biology and phenotypic assays, manuscript preparation and communication of results.

The NSCI is located in the capital region of upstate NY, a vibrant scientific region with multiple research organizations, including the Wadsworth Center, Albany Medical Center, SUNY Albany, SUNY Polytechnic and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
