Passing of USA Science & Engineering Festival Founder Larry Bock

The Society for Developmental Biology mourns the passing of Larry Bock, winner of the 2014 Viktor Hamburger Outstanding Educator Prize. Bock, an advocate for STEM education, was the founder of the USA Science & Engineering Festival.  He passed away Wednesday, July 6 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Bock found great joy in science and felt it should be celebrated.  The Festival was a space where he could share his enthusiasm with the masses.  You can read the statement on Bock's life from the USA Science & Engineering Festival. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family has requested that donations be made to the Festival to continue the legacy Bock built.
