What is a PUI?

Primarily Undergraduate Institutions or PUIs can be defined as accredited colleges and universities, including two-year community colleges, that award Associate's, Bachelor's and/or Master's degrees. It also includes institutions that grant a minimal number of doctoral degrees. You can view NSF’s definition of PUIs here.

PUI Interest Group Listserv

The Society for Developmental Biology has a PUI Listserv for PUI members and individuals interested in PUIs. This roster will serve as a tool to respond effectively to the needs and concerns of our PUI members. It will also encourage frequent interactions year-round, in addition to our regional and annual meetings.

PUI Slack Channel

The SDB PUI Slack channel aims to provide a more interactive and community-oriented approach to fostering communication and collaboration among SDB members. Whether you are an experienced or budding educator and/or researcher or simply passionate about enhancing undergraduate research and education, the PUI Slack channel is the right place to connect and collaborate.
