Overview
2nd Structural Birth Defects Trainee Symposium
September 18, 2023 | 10 AM – 5:30 PM ET
The 1st Virtual Structural Birth Defects Trainee Symposium was such an overwhelming success that the steering committee has decided to hold this event again. This one-day trainee symposium will bring together structural birth defects researchers spanning the scientific spectrum from basic to clinical to translational, including developmental biologists, cell biologists, biophysicists, clinicians, geneticists, epidemiologists, biostatisticians and bioinformaticians.
The Structural Birth Defects Trainee Symposium will welcome trainees, researchers, and their mentors in the birth defects research community. The symposium will also be open to other interested registrants and will provide a unique opportunity to hear the latest research on the etiology and development of structural birth defects.
The program will include two keynote addresses from Elizabeth Leslie, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Human Genetics at Emory University, and D’Juan Farmer, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology at the University of California, Los Angeles. In addition, presentations will consist of about 20 short talks from submitted abstracts by trainees.
