Traveling to Richmond by Train
Amtrak frequently services the Richmond Staples Mill Road Train Station (RVR). Two lines serve RVR: the Northeastern Regional (Boston to Newport News) and the Palmetto (New York to Miami) lines. Traveling between Washington, DC’s Union Station and RVR takes approximately two hours. This time is equivalent to that of driving between these two cities. RVR Train Station is a 10-minute rideshare drive from the meeting Hotel and a 15-minute drive from the University of Richmond.
Limited shuttle services will be provided between the meeting Hotel and the University of Richmond (10 min drive). We will also offer a shuttle service to take attendees from the University to the RVR Train Station at the end of the meeting, in time to catch the 5:34 PM Amtrak 124 Northeastern Regional train to Washington, DC.
Traveling to Richmond by Car
Two main highways serve the City of Richmond, I-95 and I-64. On I-95, Richmond is about 2 hours North of Raleigh-Durham and 2 hours South of Washington, DC. On I-64, Richmond is about 1 hour East from Charlottesville and 1 hour West from Newport News, VA. Travel times are estimates without traffic.
