The Department of Biology offers majors in Cellular and Molecular Biology and Health Science and contributes courses to students working towards a General Science major. We are looking for a candidate that can complement our current faculty interests and provide support to our courses in both cellular and molecular biology and anatomy and physiology. The ideal candidate will have expertise in the use of molecular and cellular techniques to investigate physiological and pathophysiological processes. The candidate will be expected to have a strong background and ability to teach and develop courses that might include: vertebrate physiology, developmental biology, cellular and molecular biology, among others. The department is dedicated to providing teaching and laboratory experiences for undergraduate students, including independent research experiences, and the candidate will be expected to contribute to this endeavour.
Qualifications include a completed Ph.D., undergraduate teaching experience, and service engagement relevant to the candidates’ prior experience. Additionally, candidates will demonstrate a primary commitment to undergraduate teaching and the potential for maintaining an ongoing program of scholarship, suitable to a Mount Royal University context.
