NIH has issued a number of funding opportunity announcements in a new initiative called the Environmental Influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) program. One element of the program is a pediatric clinical trials network in IDeA states. NIH will hold webinars on the ECHO funding opportunities on January 14 and February 1.

The National Institutes of Health will launch an effort aimed at removing barriers that slow the adoption of genome editing for treating patients. This program, Somatic Cell Genome Editing, plans to award researchers approximately $190 million over six years beginning this year, pending availability of funds.  Read announcement here.
