A post-doctoral fellow position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Wan Hee Yoon, in Functional & Chemical Genomics Research Program at Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF). We are looking for highly motivated scientist to discover molecular and cellular mechanisms how mitochondrial dysfunctions cause human neurological diseases. We are in a Drosophila genetics lab that actively utilizes state-of-the-art of genetic technologies, metabolomics, biochemistry, advanced imaging (confocal & EM), molecular biology, as well as human patient cells.
Please see some of our recent publications listed below for more information: Neuron. 2017; 93(1): 115-131; Am J Hum Genet. 2016; 99(4): 831-845
Successful candidates must hold a doctoral-level degree with solid background of genetics, cell biology, and biochemistry, or a related filed and a demonstrated track record (1st author publications) of productive research is required. Experience with Drosophila genetics, biochemical assays for mitochondria metabolism, cell culture, fluorescent microscopy, and metabolomics is desirable
